Humidifier Care Tips
Cleaning your humidifier is a chore and most people say it is the worst thing abouthumidifiers. But then again you will want your humidifier to work properly so you will need to learn how to clean it properly and in the least amount of time. There are some varieties of humidifiers that can be cleaned quite easily and efficiently so make sure this is taken into consideration if you have not yet bought a humidifier.
The smaller humidifiers used in a single room won’t be as hard to clean due to their decrease size. I got my humidifier from Germany, which the call a luftbefeuchter and if they didn’t have the instructions in English I would be completely lost. There are humidifiers that have removable pads which collect the dust and bacteria out of the air these are quite simple to change but require you to keep stock of the filters.
Make sure you regularly change the pads on the humidifiers so that they keep you room free from potentially harmful bacteria. There are lots of different bacteria around in the air that can give you respiratory problems so make sure you do this as often as you can.
The pads of course will be filled with the bacteria from the air and this makes it a requirement to wear the proper protection when it comes time to change the pads over. If you follow the documentation provided by the manufacturer of the device then you will not have any problems with your humidifier.
You don’t want to damage your humidifier and therefore will need to take great care when cleaning your humidifier due to the small parts involved.
Tap water while easy to get hold of is not the best water to use in a humidifier you would be much better off using distilled water. This will allow you to spend less of your time cleaning your humidifier.
Quick tip is to add a small amount of bleach to the water will help get rid of the minerals that build up in the humidifiers tank.
