GE Dehumidifiers – Bringing good things to life included dehumidifying the home
Manufacturing products for the home for over 120 years, General Electric is well known for their products ranging from coffee pots to refrigerators and just about every household appliance in between. Included in this vast array of products are dehumidifiers that are quite efficient at removing the humidity from a small room to a large basement to the entire home.
The company has grown from making light bulbs to being the fourth brand of products that is most recognized across the entire planet. GE was also one of the first companies that were listed on the Dow Jones Stock exchange. They have been implicated in numerous improprieties over the years and continue manufacturing well known and great products including dehumidifiers and humidifiers.
Compact to Medium to Large Sizes
One of the smaller models of GE Dehumidifiers, is the DRYC220 that is capable of removing up to 20 pints of water from the room, and it has an ionizer and a carbon filter that help attract and remove dust and germs from the rooms, plus it has an automatic control and timer, auto restart, and automatic defrost. Another model for somewhat larger areas is the ADER40LN that has the capacity to remove 40 pints of moisture from the room. It has a bucket that is removable for emptying, and it has an automatic detector to determine if the bucket is full allowing the unit to automatically shut off to prevent overflow.
The larger sizes can remove up to 65 pints of water from the larger rooms in a 24 hour period of time. It also features electronic controls, and can operate in lower temperatures and has an automatic defroster to prevent icing of the coils. These models have a bucket that can be emptied as well as the ability to connect to an external drain. If the continuous drain is not connected, the unit has an automatic shut off to turn the unit off and prevent flooding. It also has electronic soft-touch key pads for the controls to allow the consumer to determine a comfortable level of humidity in the room, and prevent over drying the room, and making it uncomfortable at the opposite scale. These units also have variable speeds on the fans that can be selected by the consumer, and determines the speed at which the unit removes the moisture from the air.
Determining the Best Fit
There are many things to consider when seeking a device to dehumidify a room such as the efficiency of the unit, the amount of moisture that can be removed in one day, and the features of the model. The convenience of removing the water container is also a factor as are the speed of the fans on the unit. When consumers look at the GE Dehumidifiers various models, they need to consider the size of the room, the price of the unit as compared to the features they want, and the size of the unit. From basement models to whole house to room models, GE offers a variety of models that are best suited for different capacities in the home.
