Home remedies for Sleep Disorders

Are you experiencing  sleep disorders?  Are they chronic and consistent?  Do you think they’re interfering with your everyday life and overall health?

If your answers are yes, yes, and probably, you’re not alone!  It’s estimated that at any rate 1 in 4 adults in the U.S. experience sleep disorders on a consistent basis.  These disorders may mean not being able to get to sleep when it’s bedtime, awakening in the middle of the night after you’ve drowsed off, not getting quality sleep when you’re asleep, or any combination of these three.  Any and all of these sleep disorders when they interfere with the quality and quantity of your sleep, should be addressed one way or another.  The body needs a good night’s sleep and it needs it every single night; while an occasional bout of insomnia may not be terribly damaging, going without quality sleep every single night is dangerous and unhealthy.  So what can you do at home to address these types of ?

One typical problem that many people have when they’re trying to sleep is worry and anxiety.  Very often this is the only time during the day when they can shut off every other distraction and start to really entertain their concerns.  As humans we’re natural problem solvers and the brain needs to think of these disorders in order to come up with solutions, but daytime disorders often lead to sleep disorders.  The brain gets very busy with these worries and typically gets anxious as well.  This makes it hard to relax enough to doze off.  One good way to address this is to set aside some time during the day to think about short-term and long-term goals one can make to face these disorders head-on.  Concerns and worries may not depart but when you make goals and a plan of attack to address them, you feel less helpless and less anxious and you experience fewer sleep disorders overall.  And when you’ve spent time during the day considering your worries and anxieties then you’re less likely to be distracted by them at night.

Physical discomfort also leads to many sleep disorders.When the body is suffering or is very uncomfortable it's difficult to sleep.  Poor posture throughout the day or slumping over a computer desk can lead to back pain at night.Applying a heating pad for a couple of moments to loosen muscles, putting a pillow under the knees, and doing some stretching exercises before bed can help to alleviate these types of sleep disorders akin to minor and everyday pain.  Breathing disorders are also common and sometimes trying deep breathing exercises can open nasal passageways, as can a good humidifier in the bedroom and even some eucalyptus oil in a vaporizer.  It’s surprising to learn how simple sleep disorders caused by these everyday concerns and worries can be quickly and easily cured with some simple homemade tricks and techniques like these.
