How can I rejuvinate the foam pad in my revolving drum furnace humidifier?
I have a revolving drum furnace humidifier that puts moisture in the air by evapoating water from a rotating foam drum (about 6″ diamater, 8″ long). As the water evaporates, mineral deposits (hard white granules) from my water build up on the drum (I expect mostly silicates, but don’t really know). Is there something I could soak the foam in that would desolve the residue?
You can do one of two things to go less expensive soak it in vinegar or for a few bucks more a really good product to get rid of the calcium (hard yellowish crust) is CLR it is quite fast acting and safe.
its also good for cleaning dust zapper if you have one. turn it off pull zapper filaments spray with choice of solution after a moment could wipe or hope down , dry out and replace,
