Cold versus warm mist humidifiers
To be honest both of these humidifiers does the same job but logically people buy cold as it is more efficient than warm as it does not have heating element. As it does not use heating element cold mist humidifiers are cheap than the warm mist model.
Warm mist humidifiers are generally steam humidifiers or Luftbefeuchter as it’s so called in Germany. It also allows the steam to cool before being release in to the room. Many people believe that warm moisture is better for nose and throat but to be honest by the time the moisture/steam gets to the nose it already has a room temperature. Warm mist can be dangerous for your children as it is pretty hot and can cause burns if touched.
The advantages of warm mist humidifiers are the bacteria are killed as the water is heated. It also makes your home warmer and you save money by saving on Gas.. It also helps you from sinus and the cold. It makes far less noise than the cold mist humidifiers.
It is very important for houses these days to have humidifiers during the winter time. It helps protect your skin as in the winter air gets dryers and even moisturised skin can get dry.
Cool mist humidifiers are cleaner than warm mist humidifiers and lasts long. These humidifiers are used normally during the summer time by many hospitality industries as it gives more fresh and cool feeling in the kitchens.
Always think about the noise when purchasing a humidifier as some of them do make a lot of noise.
