2 year old with cough?
Hi.
My 2 year old had a fever from Saturday to Tuesday, and he’s not had one since Tuesday night.
I’ve taken him in to see the doctor, and he said that my son has croup / a cold.
His fever’s all better, but he’s been having runny nose and also a bad cough since.
It’s not a croupy cough anymore, and his breathing is a lot better than last night.
However, He would go to sleep but wakes up crying from his cough and looks real cranky.
I have the humidifier on, and I’m trying to keep him hydrated, but he’s starting to refuse to drink / eat..
Does anyone have any tips on how to ease his cough / runny nose.
Also, how long can this last? Should I take him in to see the doctor again if his cough doesn’t get better soon?
continue to use the bulb syringe & saline drops often, give him plenty of fluids, and use the nebulizer EXACTLY as directed. wash all hands better, treat the pain or discomfort, and call the pediatrician.
