Whats a good humidity level for in the house once it gets cold out?

Every time our heat goes on the air gets dry very quickly, and the kids start coughing. Like Cause and Effect.
I have a humidifier and have it set somewhere like 58-62% humidity. Is this good for us?

A good humidity level for your home is between 35 and 45%. Much higher and you may get mildew and you will most certainly get condensation on your windows. Much lower and your sinuses will dry out making you more susceptible to “catching a cold”.
