I have a Holmes Humidifier 5081 and i cannot get if off reset. Anyone know to get if off reset?

I’ve done what the manual says but it still stays on reset

This may be repeating what is already in the manual, but I sometimes unplug a malfunctioning appliance for 10-15 mins., and plug it back in and follow the instructions as if I’m just setting it up. Good luck.
